I have been obsessively watching videos and reading blog posts about 2018 releases for the past few weeks, and I think it’s safe to say that next year will be a wonderful year, book-wise. I honestly think there are dozens of books coming out in 2018 that I cannot wait for, but these are the five that have been on my mind for a while!
The Truth and Lies of Ella Black by Emily Barr – out of the five books on this list, this is the only one I have an ARC of, so I am definitely going to read this soon (possibly even before it is released in January if I have time)! This story is about a girl who finds out her parents have been lying to her and her whole life is a lie – Emily Barr is a really talented writer, and I have high expectations of this book, so I can’t wait to get started on it (the Goodreads for this book is here)!
State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury – I can hardly contain my excitement for this new novel from Melinda Salisbury. I adored The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy, and I have loved reading the extra content she has published this year, so I am really intrigued to see what this book has in store (and I think it is going to be part of a new series, which is super exciting as well!). This comes out in March, and the Goodreads is here!
Legendary by Stephanie Garber – one of my absolute favourite books from this year was Stephanie Garber’s debut novel Caraval, and this is the sequel, which is coming out in May! This book revolves around Tella, the younger sister of Scarlett, the protagonist in Caraval, and I am so excited to read more from this world that Stephanie Garber has created, as I was completely transfixed by it the first time (the Goodreads for Legendary is here)!
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli – I loved The Upside of Unrequited, and Simon vs the Homosapien Agenda is an all-time favourite of mine, so I was delighted to hear that Becky Albertalli was writing a novel about Leah, one of the characters in Simon vs the Homosapien Agenda. I am eager to see how this story develops, and I cannot wait to read more about Leah’s character! This book comes out in May, and you can read the Goodreads here!
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare – this is the third book in Cassandra Clare’s The Dark Artifices series, and I cannot wait to read the final installment in this series! As some of you may know, I am a massive fan of everything Cassandra Clare has written, so I know I have this to look forward to in December (you can find the Goodreads for this book here!).
