Cosplay ready, Violet and her friends are at Comic-Con.
They can’t wait to meet the fandom of mega movie, The Gallows Dance. What they’re not expecting is to be catapulted by freak accident into their favourite world – for real. Fuelled by love, guilt and fear, can the friends put the plot back on track and get out? The fate of the story is in their hands …
I had high hopes for this book, and once I started reading it turned out to be very different to what I was expecting – and I do not mean this as a criticism. I adored this book. It was fun and heart-wrenching and clever all at once.
The plot of this book is one of the best I have read in a long time, and it was executed beautifully by Anna. I loved how all the different worlds within the book (the real world, the book’s The Gallows Dance and the one they are launched into) clashed and intertwined with one another. August has been and gone – the fastest of any month so far this year, I’m sure. I did manage to read seven books this month, which I’ll admit is less than I would have liked, but I was on holiday, and a lot of the books I read in August were classics!

The books mentioned below that have affiliate links will be marked with a *!

This time one week ago YALC 2017 was just beginning (meaning that we are one week closer to YALC 2018, yay), and I have finally managed to put together a haul of all the beautiful books I acquired over those three magical days. The first couple of days were mostly ARCs from various giveaways and competitions, and then on Sunday, after having ogled all the books throughout the weekend, I finally bought some!

August has arrived, and myself and my sister Jess (blogger at Bookends And Endings) are off on a family holiday for a few weeks – which hopefully means lots and lots of reading. This post was inspired by booksandquills on YouTube, so be sure to check out Sanne’s video here!
Jess and I will each be sharing the YA books we are taking on holiday. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have also taken a whole lot of classics to read for school, but I already sort of covered that in my classics TBR. So I may not have time to read all the YA I am bringing, but I will certainly try!
